We are criss-crossing. I also want to note that I made your Irish tea cake. Oh my! Oh my! It was gone in a flash and will be bringing another one to a play reading. I also made your Irish meatloaf. I've just had a One Perfect Bite week and all has been marvelous.Claudiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15601656778586008081noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8986801201760240722.post-44306144357269330942013-03-20T18:03:34.546-04:002013-03-20T18:03:34.546-04:00Sounds wonderful...Do you ship?Sounds wonderful...Do you ship?http://platanosmangoes.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05195715085338382178noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8986801201760240722.post-52610537288245292662013-03-20T16:07:43.171-04:002013-03-20T16:07:43.171-04:00i want a big slice of that pie! i love the orange...i want a big slice of that pie! i love the orange zest in there!teresahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03354761431432717178noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8986801201760240722.post-41419314833677161762013-03-20T15:14:33.138-04:002013-03-20T15:14:33.138-04:00I was weaned on this and the pizza chiena, and as ...I was weaned on this and the pizza chiena, and as many Italian mamma's and nonna's that is how many variations. These are pies mostly known to Neapolitan homes. I love to make them, and, of course, eat them. But a pastiera with rice is just a sweet rice pie, (pasta di riso) not a true pastiera. Pastiera has the classic rich pastry cream in it. There is also an Easter pie made with semolina called migliaccia. That has the Italian liqueur Strega in it. Very, very different. Giada takes her own spin on recipes. My family was "by the book". lol xo Barbara F.https://www.blogger.com/profile/05650730931602700042noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8986801201760240722.post-15416813834276229832013-03-20T10:46:24.461-04:002013-03-20T10:46:24.461-04:00How very interesting! I used to make it every year... and now I'm missing it all over again. I do like the idea of the phyllo crust.
