It's Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving Day 2010: I treasure your friendship and hope you're enjoying this holiday and sharing its abundance with those you love. Bob and I have had a special year and have much to be thankful for. Our yearly journey has taken us from quiet mountain lakes to the cremation ghats of Kathmandu and included a unique trip to the top of the world, where we circled Everest and learned just how small we really are. I wanted to share a few of our special moments and blessings with you. We are supremely grateful for...

the beauty of the earth

the glory of the skies

and the gift of seeing it made new through Connor's eyes.

Many of you, on learning our feast would be non-traditional, asked about the menu. Here's what I plan to serve. Have a wonderful day!

Fresh Corn Soup

Endive, Pear and Watercress Salad

Pan Seared Beef Filet with Jus LiƩ and Wine Sauce

Japanese-Style Potatoes

Braised Brussels Sprouts with Bacon and Golden Raisins

Pumpkin Panna Cotta with Orange Caramel Sauce

Cranberry Apple Crisp

  13. Hello Mary...so glad I could make it onto this post where I can mention to you how much I appreciate all your incredible dedication of sharing the best parts of you, your family and wonderful creations in the kitchen.

I've personally been crazy busy lately with work, family and of course trying to keep up with my foodies ;o) That said...I took a fairly good look at the all the great recipes you've posted lately.
I'll certainly have to try baking that very delightful 'Bubble bread' as well as those 'Diwali' cookies...yum.

With this, I'd like to leave you with some very warm wishes for the upcoming Thanksgiving celebration.
    Many blessings and happy moments.

    All the best,
    Claudia

  14. Mary: I'm up early counting my blessings--there are so many and you are one of them. I'm so very pleased we "met". I've enjoyed your photos and hearing about your menu over my first cup of coffee this morning--it was sort of like sitting across the table from you. Your non-traditional menu looks delicious. I have some of the corn soup in my freezer--ah, comforting! Thanks for sharing precious little Connor!

    Best,
    Bonnie
