Red Hot Cinnamon Apple Cider - Pink Saturday
From the kitchen of One Perfect Bite...I wanted to feature a fall holiday drink that can be enjoyed by children and adults who do not use alcohol. This one is very easy to do and only a witch's brew could be more seasonally appropriate. The drink has two ingredients: really good apple cider and cinnamon red hot candies. The two are heated together until the candies melt. That's all there is to it. This is tastiest when served warm.
Red Hot Cinnamon Apple Cider...from the kitchen of One Perfect Bite
Ingredients:
1 quart apple cider
1/4 cup cinnamon red hot candies
Directions:
Place apple cider and cinnamon candies in a large sauce pan. Bring to a simmer and cook, stirring constantly, until candies have melted. Serve warm. Yield: 4 servings.

Looks like bit like a bloody mary! But how hot is it, too hot for the kids?
ReplyDeleteGreat colour and I like that there are only two ingredients and a bit of heating and stirring involved ;0)
ReplyDeleteLovely colour and sure sounds like a great tasting drink.
ReplyDeleteYou say about no alcohol, but I have never seen cider without a alcohol content of generally between 5% to 7%. It is one of my favourite drinks :-) Diane
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely colour!
ReplyDeleteCinnamon and apple cider; so it's gotta be good; lovely photo.
ReplyDeleteI have to tell this story here! My mother in law always made her "wassail" this way with red hots. We always had it for Thanksgiving. AND we always had chicken and dumplings! One year, she had the cider in one pot and the chicken broth in another pot on the stove, heating up...guess which pot the red hots went into? lol She fished them out of the chicken broth as soon as she realized what she'd done...but needless to say we had "pink" dumplings that year! Thanks for the reminder of that memory!
ReplyDeleteThose are far and away my favorite candies, Mary!
ReplyDeleteThis is truly a blood-red HOT drink!
Perfect post for today--I just looked out the window and saw....SNOW already covering the lawn and trees!

Hello Mary, I have missed so many of your posts but I am back to visiting after some very busy days with lots going on. My sisters who live near me are always complaining I am never home or I have company. It is so true. However, I will not stop blogging so expect an unexpected visit from me when I can. Big smile.
ReplyDeleteI am very glad I stopped by today. The cider sounds like a great drink for a trim the tree party. Plus it is just too easy. I am loving it!!!
Hope all is well with you Mary.
Warm hugs, Jeanne
