I tend to shy away from giveaways. To be honest, I'm not always comfortable with them, but this holiday season I was approached by a representative from the Corporate Gifts Department of NOVICA, a website associated with National Geographic that gives artisans from around the world a place where their talents can be showcased and sold. I took a really careful look at their catalogs and based on what I saw, accepted their offer, which makes it possible for me to pass on a $75 gift certificate to two of you. If you would like to participate in the drawing, please let me know by way of a comment placed here before midnight on December 15th. I just love Novica and everything it is and stands for and does! $75 is very generous and I would spend a lot time giving careful thought to my choices. I would love just about any piece of the exquisite jewelry (especially earrings and necklaces) from/by Nareerat of Thailand (like "Happiness" and "Mystic Daisy" earrings)
I also love the jewelry designs by Sasina, Busarin, Danai and Anusara - all of Thailand.
On the other hand, I am very tempted by the graceful wooden Statuettes by Wayan Rendah (Bali & Java) like "Graceful Arc" and the rustic metal sculptures of Mexican artisan, Armando Ramirez. They would make fabulous gifts (even corporate gifts given the variety of "subject matters": careers and hobbies... But the one I want for me and my Honey/Hubby is the wonderful "Park Bench Sweethearts"!
