What if.......

...I had taken the road less traveled by? Where might it have led? How different might my life had been? I muse in comfort, surrounded by people and things I love, so why ponder what can't be changed in the continuum of space and time. That is my nature. I question. I probe. Mine is a restless spirit that seeks something it cannot name but knows it does not have. I lack the certitude of those who would change nothing in their lives. To change nothing would mean nothing has been learned. So, I keep peering down that other road trying to puzzle what's at its end and how that journey might have changed my life - a backward glance, borne of curiosity, taken not in sadness but in wonder.

Today's meme - A Road Less Taken - is being sent to Susan at A Southern Daydreamer who graciously hosts Outdoor Wednesday, a blogging event.

Mary, this is a wonderful post, and I think it's part of the creative muse to wonder about the wonder of wandering another trail. Wonder/Wonder/Wander... did I actually say that??? LOL!

Enjoyed your post! It made me stop and ponder, and that's a good thing!

XO,

Sheila :-)

I sometimes wonder what my life would have been had I taken a different path. I'm happy with the path that I took, but there is still that pondering.

What a lovely post. Sometimes, the road less traveled gets a little bumpy. It is posts like yours today that remind me that it is all worth while and puts things back in perspective. Thanks!

What a gorgeous photo! I can think of a couple of less traveled roads I definitely took, but I wonder how things would be different if I had taken others.

I wonder the same thing from time to time. Then I realize how many blessings I have and I'm glad I took this road. Beautiful post with a great southern feel.

We take the road less taken, many times, while traveling. We've found some wonderful hidden treasures along the way.

As far as traveling through life, I suppose I've taken a lesser traveled road a time or two. No regrets!

Beautiful photo!

Very nice post. You have made me think about my life. I have been through a lot of good and bad. I am not sorry for any of it. It has lead me where I am today. The lord has always watched over me. I feel very blessed.

I love the saying; Live and let live!

Yes, food for thought, as someone before me said. I think about it, but try to just focus on what road I did take. And not on the regret I sometimes feel for the one I didn't take. For I have no way of knowing where it would have led. And I know where this one did lead. And because at 52 I've figured out that regret is a wasted action. But we wouldn't be human if we didn't ponder this, would we?

So eloquently written. God made us with the ability to wonder, to question and to choose freely. I find myself questioning much less since I had my daughter, for I know that all roads led me to her. The though of taking one wrong turn and not having her in my life is scary to me. Thanks for sharing.
