...and Jesus Wept

The funerals in Newtown continue and while many honor the dead with moments of silence, there are numbers of us who believe this is precisely the time to make our voices heard. Whatever your stand on gun control, please call or write your elected officials and make your feelings known. A dialogue must start and it begins with each of us. In the meantime, keep this community and its children in your prayers. Words will never heal hearts so tragically, so senselessly, broken and the cross these parents and this community bear is one of enormous weight. Help lift that weight with your prayers and a proactive expression of your concern. Don't forget these children. They were ours for too short a time.

The coaches and artists of "The Voice" pay tribute to the Connecticut shooting victims with Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah."

Mary, Too sad for words... This was a tragedy for which there are no simple answers or solutions. Let's pray that this madness stops... Take Care, Big Daddy Dave

Mary,
Well said. Let's take a look at the entertainment industry which glorifies violence and weapons as well.

I agree, I hope this will be a wake up call for our legislators and they will finally DO something about TOO MANY guns in this country. NO ONE neds an assault weapon, in my opinion. XO, Pinky

This is a good tribute, I have always loved Leonard Cohen's songs. I guess to some people, total freedom is more important than our children. Then again, I am very angry and sad over this. Anne Marie and Ella are both six.

Mary, This is one of the most tragic things I have ever seen…innocent babies! I have already called Washington…I want action! I am a mother for gun control! Unless you are in the military or a police officer, NO ONE needs an assault weapon! Well said, Mary!

You are so right Mary. As I gaze at my 6 year old Granddaughter, I cannot even imagine such a tragedy. We need to speak out.
