A Collection of Irish Recipes for St. Patrick's Day

The Gaelic phrase "Éirinn go brách" means "Ireland forever". I'll gladly raise my mug to toast that lovely land and her people. Sláinte.

Here are a few of my "Irish" recipes to peruse before the holiday. I hope you'll enjoy them.

Wholemeal Irish Soda Bread

Irish Caraway Crisps

Barmbrack

Homemade Irish Cream Liqueur

(Almost) Irish Soda Bread

Colcannon

Spotted Dog

Dublin Coddle

Four Farls

Rye Bread with Guinness Stout and Fennel Seeds

Boxty - Irish Potato Pancakes

Okay, I'm certainly making some irish soda bread, but now I want to make some of those pancakes too. Yum! Thanks for sharing, sweet friend! I hope you are having a splendid Saturday night. Take time to relax and rejuvenate tomorrow. Hugs from Austin!

I didn't know there were so many different types of Irish bread. Thank you for stopping by and supporting Coreen. I was also touched by her story.

Mary,

They all look wonderful. I am experimenting with the Irish soda bread. I made Ina's but I'm not sure if I liked as much as my husband did. I will now try the spotted dick that you have shared as I quite like yellow raisins.

I have lacked inspiration for St. Patrick's Day. Will have to check out the bread recipes. That may be the tastiest way to go!

Thanks for creating that list :), I was actually searching for some St. Pats stuff earlier in the week. I ended up making Bran muffins instead (my favourite) which if I were Irish I suppose would make them Irish muffins, so I'm going to pretend that I am. Besides, whenever I plan holiday themed baking I usually make them way after, so I suppose I'm on schedule :). Love the blog as always :).

Mary, we had a St. Patrick's Day Feast last night with 10 around the table. I made your Wholemeal Irish Soda Bread and your Spotted Dog. They were a most appreciated addition to the corned beef and veggies (our British/Canadian friends add the odd brussel sprouts and rutabagas). It was all wonderful.

I also made your Irish Caraway Crisps to take to a bridge party. Such a unique cookie. Thanks for all the great recipes.
