From the kitchen of One Perfect Bite...These moist Brownie-like bars are a perfect treat for those who have a demanding sweet tooth. The bars are incredibly easy to make and the recipe is great for the first baking forays of young cooks. While those who prefer the barely sweet pastries of Europe may want to take a pass, the rest of humanity will love them. 'Nuff said. Here is how they are made.
Butterscotch Brownies with Chocolate Chips...from the kitchen of One Perfect Bite courtesy of Taste of Home magazine
Ingredients:
1-1/2 cups packed brown sugar
1/2 cup butter, melted
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup (6 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips
Directions:
1) Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 13 x 9-inch baking pan. Set aside.
2) Combine brown sugar, butter, eggs and vanilla in a large bowl and mix just until blended. Combine flour, baking powder and salt and add to brown sugar mixture. Stir in chocolate chips.
3) Spread dough in prepared pan and bake for 18 to 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack. Cut into bars. Yield: 16 bars.

Picky-picky husband is a butterscotch addict, so I'm going to make these with butterscotch chips, what a great idea, thank you for sharing.
I haven't had a butterscotch type brownie since I was a kid!! These look and sound wonderful.. and you are right, they seem incredibly easy to make too!
