"Candy is Dandy but Liquor is Quicker"

If you find it difficult to name your poison, either of the following recipes would be a wonderful addition to your Valentine's Day celebration. Why not try them both? They are festive and delicious and I know you will enjoy them. Here is how these appropriately pink treats are made.

Pink Peppermint Patties

Ingredients:
2 cups confectioners' sugar
1-1/2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
1/4 teaspoon peppermint oil (do not use peppermint extract)
1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
2 tablespoons evaporated milk + more as required
1 or 2 drops red food coloring
Chocolate Coating:
9 ounces semi-sweet or bittersweet chocolate, coarsely chopped
1 tablespoon shortening
